Hello,

I am reaching out because I desperately need help getting my dog Simba the medical care he needs right now. Simba is not just my dog—he is my family. He is the most loyal, gentle, and loving soul, and for over 9 years he has been by my side through everything. He still has so much life left to live, and I am doing everything I can to save him.

About a week ago, Simba became very sick. He developed a deep cough, became extremely lethargic, and stopped eating like he normally does. I took him to the vet immediately, where they ran X-rays and blood work. The X-rays showed masses that could be cancer. They couldn’t rule out the possibility of rodenticide poisoning, so he was started on Vitamin K1 while we wait for answers.

The next day, I took Simba to another vet for a second opinion, hoping for better news. Unfortunately, they said the same thing—this could be cancer. Until further testing is done, we won’t know for sure. Simba needs to see an oncologist as soon as possible, but I simply do not have the funds to get him there on my own.

Just one week ago, I lost my other baby, my cat Bagheera, to heart disease. I tried everything to save him, but he needed an echocardiogram that I couldn’t afford in time. Losing him was devastating and extremely traumatic, and the pain of wondering “what if” will stay with me forever. I cannot go through that again. I can’t lose another one of my babies. I had three, and now there are only two left.

The vet bills have piled up rapidly, and the constant appointments have become overwhelming. I tried to get Simba health insurance, but due to his age, many plans wouldn’t approve him, and the ones that would were far beyond what I could afford. Now that he has a pre-existing condition, insurance will not cover his current medical needs at all.

I am asking for help with everything in me. Help to save my boy, or at the very least, help me give him more time—time where he is comfortable, loved, and free from pain. This is urgent, and every moment matters. Any amount, any share, any support truly means the world to us.
