Accessing Top Surgery

Hello everyone thank you for taking the time to viewing my fundraiser. My name is Mikayla Jackson I am 25 years of age. I identify as non-binary, and in the works to transitioning without hormonal medications. I’ve been working two jobs in order to save as much funds as possible in order to get my top surgery medical cost. With that in mind, I’ve also been looking at alternative ways of getting my medical costs covered for the surgery but in order for insurance to cover some of my medical cost, I need what they call WPATH Standards which is “Persistent, well-documented gender dysphoria; Capacity to make a fully informed decision and to consent for treatment; Age of majority in a given country.” I have been going to therapy for almost 2 years for treatment of OCD and body dysmorphia. I’ve been on a self healing journey to finding my identity. Growing up in a multicultural household I was never able to feel authentically myself, nor comfortable in my own body/skin. One thing I was always sure of was that my breasts were not a part of me. Even as a child, I felt this way, and as I got older it took a toll on my mental health. so I ask for your help and help me raise money for my medical cost along with hiring a caretaker through my recovery. My family is going to help as much as they can financially, but we have always struggled in that department. So I’m here asking communities of all to help me on my journey of transitioning and becoming the person I’ve always been.
