As many as 75,000 men are victims of sexual assault in the UK every year; 9,000 are victims of rape, but this abuse is rarely talked about, and there's a stigma still attached to coming forward. In 2013/14, only 3,000 offences of male rape or sexual assault were recorded.
That's why Daniel has set up Shatter Boys UK in Manchester, a new project to help other male survivors of child sexual abuse and adult rape. The project uses the experiences of men who have been through horrific ordeals themselves to empower other victims.
So far, they've helped 100s of men across the UK and the plan is to launch additional support groups across the country.
Up until now Shatter Boys UK has been self-funded from Daniel's other job and donations from friends and professionals donating their time.
There are currently over 20,000 services for women and only 7 specifically for males.
The funds will go towards providing peer support for individuals and groups, to rent rooms to provide support and travel to reach Survivors in different areas of the country.
