Fundraiser now complete - Thank you!

£8,000 buys the antenna field fencing and civil works for the pipe - and necessary workshop items
£11,500 decorates the studio and sorts the acoustics with pro studio lights etc
£15,000 fits the studio with new livestream cameras and an editing computer etc - perhaps better internet
£20,000 buys us anything we need, air-con, 230V conditioners, perhaps solar power

I do want a webSDR anyway, so we'll factor that in - and maybe an EchoLink node too with local repeater

As you know, we have been forced off the farm and can no longer do any science or any ham radio there. That means we had to stop the Lock Down net for the old folks which was a terrible disappointment for many. We are gutted, as you know. All that work wasted. And the development of the Nebula was halted too. We are so sorry.

But as you know, Callum is a fighter, so the work must carry on..

The good news is that after a LOT of help from our amazing supporters on YouTube, we have found a new place. It's a 750 sq ft workshop on a lovely farm, not far from here. Sure, it needs work; some workbenches, some industrial racking and a ton of paint. We can do it..

Wendy and I have negotiated with the landlord for some field space for our radio experiments - at a cost. The landlord insists this is done by external contractors. So no work-party this time. And we need to fence off the new antenna field from the sheep. Did you know the sheep that were born on the current farm last spring during the livestreaming lock-down nets actually live in this field? Amazing!

BUT there is a capital cost - which is why we are asking for some help.

The cost to the civil works is around £5,000. That's a 50m underground run to the antenna field and the works to connect that pipe to the workshop. And then we also have the fencing to complete at a further cost. We already have most of the coax runs from the last time we did this but we will take the opportunity to procure some additional coax for VHF this time.

We have never asked anyone for money before so this is totally alien to us. We're a proud family and have always managed to grow our business slowly and organically. We make do with what we have. Almost everything you see on the channel is a clever second hand purchase. We don't spend unnecessarily and we are frugal with our outgoings. But we need your help this time.

£8,000 will cover the move, the civil works and the warehouse racking leaving about £2,000 spare for the antenna field fencing.

If we can raise £11,500 we can decorate the studio, fit acoustic sound panels and some professional lighting for a YouTube studio.

If we raise £15,000, we can kit out with some new livestream cameras, a sound desk and a new editing / livestream machine and better internet.

It is highly unlikely that we will raise any more than that but be assured that if we raise more than £20,000, we will put that to good use in the form of a remote websdr or something interesting that we can ALL use as a community.

Be assured that EVERY PENNY of your money will go into the shop so we can continue the quest for low-margin, economical, high performance  antennas and also GREAT YouTube content for you at home to enjoy. Just a "tenner" is all we ask for.

We know you are are all missing the Friday 80m Lock-Down nets but even post-Covid, we will still run Friday nets and check-ins from the shop to make people feel less lonely and more embraced by our amazing hobby - right across the shortwave spectrum. And of course, we will be free again to make the content that we know you enjoy and want.

Please help us out. Just a tenner will make all the difference.

If you can afford more, we will humbly accept your donation and we promise to put it to good use - and you will see for yourself, how directly that will affect us and the channel in the form of new content in the future.

If you cannot afford a small donation, please don't worry - your offer of kind words and encouragement are worth the same.

Thank you for your support.
