Jacob's Eagle Project

One of the most important lessons that scouting has taught me is that every act of service makes a positive impact on the community.  Miss Bessie Heard devoted most of her lifetime (1886-1988) to the city of McKinney and its people.  Her greatest contribution was the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary,  where they enable over 100,000 visitors, annually experience and appreciate nature and conversation.

I'm Jacob Walker and I've been part of Troop 77 for the last 6.5 years.  I've served in many leadership positions (SPL, Troop Quartermaster, Patrol Leader, and Instructor).  I've learned and experienced a lot through Scouts and I'm taking  all of that into my final requirement,  The Eagle Project.

My Eagle Project is restoring a section of a wooden walkway that will allow the many visitors to experience the  289 acre wildlife sanctuary and all the beauty the Heard has to offer. I'm looking for donations that will help me purchase the materials and supplies needed to complete my project.

Thank you to everyone who has helped me get this far on my scouting journey, and thank you to everyone who will support me through this project.
