On November 2, 2024, I was assaulted by an ex that I never suspected was capable of violence. This person became enraged about a conversation that I was trying to calmly talk through with him. He became even more angry once I told him that I no longer wanted to hang out with him. As I exited his vehicle (with heels on), he pulled off while I was holding on to the door, made me fall to the ground, and he dragged me across my parking lot as if I was a rag doll. He pulled off and left me on the ground as if I was nothing. Two days later, I filed an emergency protective order.
Due to this traumatizing situation, I had to take a 2-week FMLA from work, and this has put me behind on paying bills. I had horrible back pain for 2-3 weeks, scraped up knees, I broke my shoe, and I had an internal wound in my foot that still hurts. I also am trying to retain a lawyer, who is asking for $4000 for a 2-year protective order.
This person has lied to the police and tried to paint me as the aggressor, which is the furthest thing from the truth. But of course, the police ate it up, and now they're not pursuing any charges because of him lying and also because there were no cameras or witnesses. I want some type of justice; if the police won't seek it for me, I'll fight for myself.
Unfortunately, I am not able to pay the $4000 out of pocket. I've reached out to family, and the majority of my family have done nothing but made me feel even more depressed about the situation. I had to do an FMLA, my family and even some of my friends have blamed me for this situation, some friends have abandoned me, I've had to go to two therapists (and possibly a third, a trauma therapist), I've suffered PTSD, and so much more.
I appreciate anybody that is willing to donate and help me get through one of the toughest situations I've ever experienced in my life. I thank you for believing me, supporting me, and recognizing that I'm the victim. I did not deserve this.
