I am a teacher in Baltimore and I love my job. I am so hurt by this. A student did this in a fit of "fixation" that he had on me. This is not covered by insurance due to the fact that the bumper was damaged and that makes it collision. My school district says they can only pay up to $500 which doesn't even cover the windshield ($900 according to Safelite).

I cannot afford to repair this on a teacher's salary. The damage has been estimated to be in the thousands because of sensors in the bumper and window having to be recalibrated.

I am at a loss and have no other options.

Any help is appreciated as of course I need my car to get to work. I just feel like crying all the time. I never thought of anything like this happening by just trying to help.
