Help those Wronged by Astria Health-Emergency Fund

Astria Regional Medical Center in Yakima Washington has closed their doors and has left 463 employees in this underserved and impoverished community without a job or source income. The hospital abruptly closed its doors 5 days after notifying its employees and has not paid some their last pay checks or the PTO they earned. There was a number of husband and wife teams who worked there and do not know if they can buy food or gas this month. While other employees were the sole income for their family and are frantically trying to find ways to keep a roof over their family’s head. Please donate to help our kitchen staff, nurses’ aides, technicians, house keepers and more keep their homes and pay their bills. Unfortunately, it can take 30- 45 days to receive unemployment or government benefits and people have rent due by the first of this month. Furthermore, unemployment benefits will last 26 weeks and with some people having specialty jobs it may take longer. Let’s make sure they can continue looking without fear of losing everything they worked so hard for.
