Hi! My name is Jamie Lynn and I am the daughter of our beloved friend and family member, Dwayne Summerfield. In 2017, Dwayne was diagnosed with stage four cancer and he has been fighting this awful disease ever since. My dad is one of the strongest, kindest, most sensitive, and most emotionally balanced men I know. He is also a total goofball and nerd which I am sure you all know!

I need your help and invite you to be a part of this journey.

Last year, Dwayne and his lovely wife Julie traveled to the big island of Hawai'i for the first time ever and fell in love with life all over again. The food, ziplining, snorkeling, Kona coffee, and beaches; their cheeks were sore from smiling. They had found their paradise.

Unfortunately, it is an expensive paradise and visiting again feels somewhat unattainable.

Despite years of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and five major surgeries, Dwayne's cancer continues to progress. If you have been close to someone fighting cancer, you know that these treatments are horrendously difficult on one's body. My dad has spent years experiencing major health issues, sickness of many kinds, and exhaustion brought on by his diligent treatments. Not to mention the emotional strain this has had on him and his loved ones.

After years of struggle, Dwayne has decided to take a break from treatment. He has decided that now is the time to make some beautiful memories and live his best life. He wishes to embrace a higher quality of life while he is still able to truly enjoy what this world has to offer.

I need your help giving Dwayne the trip of a lifetime. A trip to celebrate his 63rd birthday and his 10th wedding anniversary to Julie. My dad has a dream of spending a month in his newfound paradise; the big island of Hawai'i. The place that gives him life and brings him and his wife so much joy. With your help, we can make Dwayne's dream come true.

What would your donations go towards?

The goal is to collect $6,150 in donations which will cover everything. I will share updates as these different fundraising milestones are reached, as well as happy moments and memories made on the island. I want you to be part of this meaningful journey!
