My brother Dwayne is more than his illness and the time he has spent in various hospitals. Dwayne is a reserved, kind, caring, fun-loving, and hilarious person. He has been the big brother that protected his little sisters at all cost and the surrogate father to many children that have come into his life.

Despite his illness or pain, he is always concerned about the well-being of others. While he was lucid, he was known to spend his time checking on others. He is so many things to each member of our family and we love to spend time with him.

Unfortunately, Dwayne has not been able to work for years and is being cared for by our family. He has stayed with me for years now and it has been an absolute honor. I've tried to get insurance for him but he was declined life insurance due to his health issues.

Dwayne is currently transitioning and our family is devastated.

He has been dealing with Kidney failure for the last 13 years and is now experiencing multiple organ failure. No man nor woman knows the day or time that the Lord will call their name but we have been told he wont recover like we had hoped. He has been moved to Cincinnati to receive additional care that they couldn't give him in our hometown of Dayton, Ohio. So, now we wait. We wait for the day that will change our lives forever. We wait at his bedside to comfort him as he transitions. We wait on God to do the thing that we know is coming but cant bring ourselves to imagine.

But as we wait, we have been trying to prepare for what is ahead of us.. Dwayne's final arrangements. We have paid for his burial plot and vault. We have asked our immediate family to chip in to help us collect money for his burial. However, we still need to raise $3,125 and that's why we have started this campaign.
