We, a group of parents, are starting this gofundme on behalf of the children of Dr. W A MacLeod school.

Now, we are not raising this money FOR the school, but for the graduating children of the 2025-2026 classes that may not have all or some of the funding for the graduation trip to Quebec.

The school has canceled this trip on the graduating class without full reason or communication to the parents as to why. We have not received any sort of explanation from the school home to the parents as to what has brought on this decision.

A group of us parents have decided to come together and plan this educational adventure for the graduating class outside of the school. We are not looking to make money, but actually to help raise some extra funds so that we can help ANY child (within the graduating class) whose family may need the help to send their graduate on this once in a life time trip.

So many of these kids have looked forward to this opportunity coming up through the grades and had it stripped away. We just want to try to include as many of these graduates that we can and not have a reason of financial matters be the way to hold a child back.

If you’re able to help out, even the smallest amount, we will ensure that any funds raised for this will be put towards helping the families and children, so they can attend this trip without barriers. If we succeed to have extra generosity donated, we will make sure to use the money towards group funding for meals while on the trip, treating the kids to a group event, etc.

From one parent that is extremely disappointed from the lack of explanation and communication from the school, I know how grateful those families that we are attempting to support, will be. We parents, do not feel that the graduating class should miss out on such an opportunity as this and are trying everything we can to keep this positive experience alive for these kids.

We aren’t here to put any negativity towards the school, the decision was made for their reasoning, even if we may not know it.

What we do know, is that we do not want finances to be a reason for a child to miss out.
