Caring for Carson
Carson’s Story
About a month ago going through my daily routine I noticed I was getting tired quickly and at times couldn't breath... A few days later a golf ball sized lump on the side of my neck appeared nearly overnight. After 2 weeks of doctors visits and testing, I was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma/Leukemia and was admitted into Vanderbilt U Hospital. Apparently in about the span of a month a tumor 7 inches in diameter had grown directly behind my rib cage (the largest of them) along with numerous others a few in some organs. Right now as I said I do feel fine but I am told that my Kidneys (which also have 2 active tumors) are being affected the worst right now from Tumor Lysis Syndrome. Basically the growth and death of these cells are trying to be flushed from my body and my Kidney are being overworked.... I have a few other symptoms and problems, but none are as pressing to immediate health. Along with more test in the next few days (or as long as my kidneys will function) we will hopefully know everything and begin treatment. May 28, 2017
Carson played baseball for Farragut Baseball in high school. Being a part of this baseball team means you are part of the Farragut baseball family. We know that these treatments, hospital stay and the excellent care Carson is getting at Vanderbilt will be expensive and we have set up this page to help alleviate some of the expense, so they can focus on taking care of and loving Carson.
Anissa Strickland, Carson's mom, is the beneficiary of this account and she appreciates all the donations, love, support and prayers!
