On Saturday, August 23, 2014, we lost a wonderful person. Lewis Lindsey, 89, was killed as he was walking onto M-115 (in Cadillac, Michigan).  Although suffering mild retardation, Lewis loved the outdoors and always had a smile for everybody he met and knew. He lived with my family since 1970. His family members didn't want him because of his "condition", so my parents took him in and gave him a loving home. A month before my father died, he asked me to "take care of Lewy and NOT to put him in a home". For the next 15 years, my wife and I did just that. He touched the lives of all he knew and he will never be forgotten.
