Washington Elementary School PTA Jog-a-thon 2022!

We must apologize! We made a mistake. For the last few years, we’ve been working with the Boise Public Schools Foundation, and operating under their tax identification number – EIN 82-0400689. This allows us to function as a non-profit and have our finances and taxes vetted and filed. Since we used our old EIN to set up this fundraiser, we will need to re-direct donations to the above EIN. Once funds are transferred to the Foundation they will assign them to our account. Donors might be contacted by either GoFundMe or the PayPal Giving Fund – the organization that processes payments for GoFundMe - about this issue. We appreciate your continued support and are dedicated to putting your valued donations to good use. Please know we do regret the inconvenience.

Please join the Wildcats as we raise funds for Washington Elementary's Parent Teacher Association through our annual Jog-a-thon!

This fun event is always a highlight of the fall for the students and we have great participation!! It is one of two annual fundraisers done by the PTA. The students run laps with their class and enjoy seeing how many laps they can run during their time slot.

The money raised for Washington Elementary School teachers and staff provides resources the teachers need within the classroom and beyond to expand opportunities for our Wildcats. With your donations, our students will have educational enhancements such as grade-level field trips, technology, software subscriptions for early readers, classroom supplies, student celebrations, educational programs for both staff and students, and so much more. At the start of each school year the PTA distributes funds to each teacher to use for their class and creates a "general distribution" fund that the staff submits a request to use for larger or unanticipated expenditures. The PTA reviews the request and votes to distribute the funds. During Covid teachers quickly purchased mobile white boards to teach outside, musical instruments that were COVID safe, and additional gym and playground equipment through this fund.

The PTA's goals are to continue to support and retain Washington's excellent educators, maintain the ability to purchase enhancement items for the classrooms and school, and say "yes" to innovative ideas for our children to thrive in this educational setting.
