Love for Braden
There's no greater blessing in life than that of a child! As a parent there's nothing worse than seeing your child in pain or discomfort. You would do anything to take that pain or discomfort upon yourself. That's how we feel about our Braden. Braden is a fun loving, kind hearted 8 year old boy who at birth was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. For those who may not know CP is the loss or impairment of motor function caused by damage to the brain. CP affects muscle control, muscle coordination, muscle tone, reflex, posture and balance. It can also impact fine motor, gross motor and oral motor skills and functions.
For several years now Braden has received Botox injection's in his arm's and leg's to help with muscle tightness. Without the injection's walking unassisted would have been near impossible. The time has come that Botox is no longer enough. Because of the tightness and drawn muscles Braden's right hip and foot have not formed correctly. In December he will have extensive reconstructive hip and foot surgery along with lengthing his heel cords. Doctors have projected he will be in the hospital about a week after surgery. Once released from the hospital he will be in casting from hip to toe for approximately 6-8 weeks with no weight bearing on his right side. Which means he willl be wheelchair bound for that time.
Shriners Hospital in Greenville will do the surgery so all medical expenses are covered except Anasthesiology which includes time in the O.R. and all medications given while in the hospital and rental on a wheelchair.
We greatly appreciate any help your able to offer and even if you are not able to donate, there are other ways you can contribute. Prayers and encouragement are always welcome.
Please know all donations will go toward medical expenses, rental on a wheelchair and home modifications(ramps and possibly widening doors).
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and please feel free to share with your friends.
Thad, Kisha and Braden
