On 17th December, I’ll be running a 15-mile stretch to raise money for a family who have just suffered the unimaginable—the loss of their son to cancer. I don’t know the family personally, but their story hit me deeply. It brought back memories of a very close friend of mine who battled leukaemia during our teenage years. Thankfully she’s now in recovery, but it easily could have been a very different story.
This time of year is difficult for so many, and money is tight for everyone, but if I can raise anything at all to help this family with funeral costs and ease even a fraction of their burden, then I want to try.
I haven’t trained for this run, so it will be tough—but that challenge is nothing compared to what this family is going through. This is the least I can do to show support during such a devastating time.
If you’re able to contribute, no matter how small, it would mean more than you know. Thank you.
