Early in 2014, Ronnie Baars, discovered he had a massive brain tumor and for medical reasons, he needed to have it removed. Although, the surgery had many risks (paralysis, death, etc...), he decided to follow through with recommendations from his doctor. The tumor ended up being so involved that his physician was unable to completely remove it from his brain and while attempting to do so, he caused some extensive brain damage. During his 8 week stay in the ICU post surgery, he managed to survive serious blood clots, reactions to medications, seizures, and infections to the area of injury which caused him to have two additional surgeries. Ronnie is now unable to walk, has no mobility of his right arm and has lost the ability to communicate.
He is currently in a rehabilitation facility that specializes in therapy for brain injuries. However, Ronnie is progressing very slowly. Furthermore, insurance is not covering any of the costs and they are adding up quickly. Your generosity would be used to cover expenses for Ronnie's rehabilitation and other medical expenses that occur in the near future.
Ronnie is only 55 years old and was in very good health prior to this surgery. There is no doubt that with a positive attitude, motivation from friends and family members, and enough therapy he can fight through this and hopefully be much closer to his normal self in the years to come. Anything you are able to donate, would be so greatly appreciated by him, his daughters and their growing families.
