Thank you very much for supporting Martin Gocke (MJ) as he works to recover from a heart transplant. Being a strong and loving husband, father, Papa, family member and friend, he appreciates you.
The journey has been a long one, dating back to 2009 when an angiogram and stent placement went awry damaging his heart, starting a chain of several heart attacks (three of them massive) and placing him in heart failure. Their family has been covering their own medical expenses for a number of years.
After several years in heart failure and a long wait, on April 26, MJ finally received a heart! Praise God!
We are raising funds to cover current out of pocket medical expenses and costs associated with an extended stay away from home and close to UCSF Medical Center.
MJ is presently in the hospital where he will be for several weeks. Then he will transition to local lodging where he will be required to check into the hospital daily over a period of 6-8 weeks, possibly more. The journey to recovery will be a long one, but MJ is blessed by many who are providing support and prayers.
