On June 6, 2024, Tangie’s life changed forever. While driving to work, she suffered a seizure that caused her to lose control of her car. Her vehicle crossed a three-lane highway, collided with a tree, and struck another vehicle. Emergency services arrived quickly, saving her life, but the accident left her with severe injuries.

Tangie sustained a collapsed lung, a ruptured spleen and kidney, eight broken ribs, and severe spinal damage with burst vertebrae that resulted in incomplete paraplegia. Thanks to her incredible strength and the quick response of emergency medical teams, she survived. However, her road to recovery has been overwhelming.

The months of intensive rehabilitation and treatment have come at a staggering cost of over $1.2 million. While insurance covers a portion, Tangie still faces $120,000 in out-of-pocket expenses. Combined with being on short-term disability, these costs have created an immense financial burden for Tangie and her family.

Despite these challenges, Tangie remains a fighter. She draws strength from her faith, her loving daughter, and her supportive parents. Having already endured the heartbreaking loss of her husband to suicide in 2020, Tangie’s resilience is nothing short of inspiring. She is determined to recover, regain mobility, and create a brighter future for herself and her family.
