Matt and I are in an unsafe living environment (cockroach and rodent infestations, no fire safety, structural damage, violent threats from a neighbor...), so we need to leave our current apartment and find a new home as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, after moving cross-country for grad school just a few months ago, we're basically without a savings to lean on for all these extra expenses (pay a new security deposit, application fees, first and last month's rent).
