Our family battle

Our family became the statistic in 2013. The cancer statistic.
My beautiful Aunt, diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2013. Two months later, more devistation; ovarian cancer was found in her body scan. Surgery, chemo, and radiation ensued.
Almost a year later to the day, Valentines Day 2014, I was diagnosed with a rare form of placental cancer... choriocarcinoma. Surgery. Chemotherapy. Begging for normalcy.
In the beginning of last year (2015), my glamorous grandma was being told breast cancer had once again struck our family. A mastectomy and tons of medication were prescribed.
The first quarter of the year seems to be our cancer diagnosing time... My mother, Edye, diagnosed with breast cancer only a short month or so ago. Cancer is never cut and dry. But to add insult to injury, after surgery her pathology report has come back with conflicting results. So she must wait even longer for a definitive answer on treatment (hopefully none or very little is needed).
I thought about starting this fund a while ago. I didn't because I can see my mother's face in reaction to my thought. I can hear her selfless words saying she is fine and needs nothing. Well cancer is expensive. Cancer tries to take you down in every aspect of life. I wish I could afford to pick up her tab; to show cancer nothing stops us. To show cancer we are warriors. We are survivors. We are the face of hope.
So here I am. Telling the smallest of life portions describing our families' last four years. Crazy years. But we still say f*ck cancer. F*ck Cancer.
