Blake's Heart Surgery
Donation protected
That is the face of my Grandson Blake. He is 11 years old. Blake looks like any other healthy, happy 11 year old boy.
Blake needs open heart surgery for Ventricular Septal Defect. The surgery is scheduled for June 22, 2016, at Children's Mercy in Kansas City. This surgery is intended to be a "stop-gap" to save his aortic valve which will need surgery again later in life. The doctors intend to relieve the stress on his aortic valve in the hopes of prolonging the aortic surgery until he is much older.
His mom and dad have insurance, but there are other expenses that are not covered when you have to travel away from home to get treatment. This is why I am raising money to help them out.
They will be away from home and off work for at least 1 week. They will need a place to stay (Ronald McDonald house is not always available), food to sustain them while they are away from home, lost time from work, meal services for recovery time, return trips for post operative care, deductibles and any other unexpected expense.
This was his first day of school - when he was 9
This photo is from September 2015 - isn't he just the coolest?
The family will be forever grateful for any help you can give to them in this their time of need. To help them not have to worry about being close to their son in his time of need is an invaluable gift.
I look forward to thousands more of these photos.
