ICE TOOK MY BROTHER.

PLEASE HELP ME GET MY BROTHER OUT OF ICE DETENTION. In 2005, my brother, my mom, and I ran from the Liberian war and gained asylum here in the United States. After running from the Liberian war, we were separated from my mom for 2 years before we were officially reunited. When we eventually got reunited with our mom, she fell ill with cancer, and we had to be sent to foster homes. Our time in foster homes was not all glitter or gold. As we struggle to cope with her illness and the new life we were introduced to. After a very short, but painful battle with cancer, our mother died in 2011, leaving us in this country, all by ourselves, with no relatives, and no real support. In foster care, I had to be my brothers' keepers because there were only two of us now left. The death of our mom took a toll on my brother, leaving him with many mental health struggles. Like chronic depression and addictions. as he also struggled to adapt to society with everything that was going on within foster care. My brother soon turned 18 without adoption and had to leave foster care, leaving him to fend for himself in a world where he had no mother or father while still struggling to cope with the death of our mother. As he struggled to find his place in this world, he also struggled as a black man living in America with chronic depression and addiction, which lead him to a lot off challenges like not being able be a proper father for his son. Or able to keep a job or a healthy relationship. As his younger sister and single mother. It has been mentally and physically draining for me. To help him get therapy, keep a job or just have a normal life. In the middle of all this trauma me and my brother have been facing. It has been so hard as refugees to not only find our footing and place in the United states. Also has been hard to keep in contact with any of our families we’ve left behind since the war. we buried our mother in 2011 and none of our family back home knows that she passed away, so as you can see why. My brother has lost sight of who he is. He hasn’t smiled in over five years. And now Currently, my brother is being held at an ICE,s detention center in Philadelphia, Up until this point, I have been doing my part to secure him a legal representative, but with the cost of living, being a single mother, I can no longer carry the burden on my own. So please help me to get my brother home.
