Dutch Rabbit Rescue - Bred in Extremely Cruel conditions

Hi my name is Debbie and I went to purchase 2 Dutch rabbits from a breeder who stated he had 7 for sale . On arrival I found 5 still alive and 2 younger dead in nothing more than a metal box with a tiny window for air .

I ended up taking the lot as I could not leave these poor bunnies to suffer so already in too deep and now £150 down on my way home I actually thought “ What have I done, then proceeded to think, it’s ok charity’s will help “ RSPCA will go to ensure no more hidden for this evil man to continue selling on gumtree . Reported to gumtree and reached out to nearly every charity and Vet going and not 1 except Vets for Pets in Huddersfield has done anything except pass me to blue cross , bunny angels , etc etc …..

All not interested in taking even one ! The females all pregnant as 2 bucks in the litter , pets at home are part of Vets for pets company and have started communication (regards possible adoptions ) but moving slowly and wanting reassurance of veterinary care prior so in the meantime I’ve to sort health checks at £55 each and bunny angels charity have advised that all females be neutered asap . Vets for Pets advise babies inside will be killed and this all goes against my rescue . However it does make sense to sort females first to prevent this turning into a worse nightmare so if females were neutered immediately this will cost me £900 after checks etc . In the meantime I need hutches and £200 for each female to be neutered , £125 each for both males to be done …… cages to keep the litter of a bunny ( who I fear is very near to being due …) . And if this is the case then neutering again of one litter etc etc …… a lovely local lady offered to take a pregnant female, but pets at home if adopting need risk of infections and lives lost out if the equation.

So I’m reaching out for help this way ;-( how awful these charity’s and vets claim to care , yet I’ve tried every single one and yes all very sorry to hear about what’s happened but other than that , here’s someone who might help to ease their guilt …..,all doing the same thing passing in a circle . RSPCA not even interested ?? How can that be ? PDSA not even offered to neuter them at a reduced cost and not one vet will reduce costs either .

Vets for pets Huddersfield, helped by confirming Sex for free and advise and time for free has been amazing …Pets at home staff , great too at Aston and Huddersfield …. other than that I’m now having to do this alone to stand the chance of adoption options …So please as usual, we come to each other the person already loving an animal and the persons who are already finds themselves helping all they can whilst scraping to get by.

I have been advised to start a go fund me page by the vets . Most of you have seen my post and know it’s genuine rescue and any amount can help continue my rescue to be that of an happy ending and ensure these bunny’s have a happy ever after . I will continue to advertise and ask for help , but the rabbits have to go to loving homes that are going to make them part of their family .
