Dutch Civilian Action for Ukraine

We are humans for humans in need.
A collective of volunteers driving donations to Ukraine and bringing refugees to the Netherlands. We work with partner organizations to offer help wherever it is needed.

Mission by mission. Action by action. We make a difference together. Many hands make light work. Everyone has something useful to contribute. We reach out to our networks and communities to help refugees become our neighbors.

Starting as a group of friends in Amsterdam, we tried to work out how we could help those affected by the war in Ukraine. We looked into our networks to get people on board to help, and we have been amazed at how much help is out there. Now we run several projects, from transporting refugees to the Netherlands and helping sort long term housing, to arranging doctors appointments and providing our new Ukrainian neighbors with bicycles. Whatever needs doing - we will do it.

Our mission:

1. Drop off humanitarian aid.
2. Bring back refugees (our new friends).
3. Create a safe, welcoming and friendly environment for the journey.
4. Take them to a safe and comfortable housing location.
5. Grow a community of new neighbors.

Read about and support our journey on this page. Please share our story with your friends and family. You can always reach out to us with questions, essential goods to donate, and if you want to learn about more ways to help.

You can help us in five different ways.

The most crucial thing is essential items and funding. We are working around the clock to make this happen asap.

1. Funding us to pay for fuel.

Please donate to help us pay for fuel and food. Fuel is getting more and more expensive each day, so please help. Our costs for only fuel will be approximately €2500 per trip. Please donate via our “Go Fund Me”-page or contact Aengus for alternative options.

2. Donating items.

If you want to donate goods, please contact either Maarten or Aengus and let us know what you have and how many units of the items you can offer.

3. Drive with us (preferably women)

To soften the meeting on arrival, we need some more female drivers. Please contact Joost, our logistical operator, to drive with our fleet.

4. If you have a place to accommodate refugees for a minimum of 2 weeks.

If you can accommodate refugees, please let us know how many refugees you can host and for how long. We will also help you to find a place for them for the long run.
5. Translation

If you speak Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian and can help us be a language representative, please contact us. We might need you to translate some documents, phone calls or anything we come across during integration and after care.

What goods are we transporting?

As we grow, we are looking for more specific essential goods. We are mainly in need of tents, blow-up mattresses, sleeping bags, medical supplies, and safety (or military) equipment. Of course, food, clothing, toys, and anything you can imagine that could help is more than welcome. Do reach out to us if you can help.
