Cornea Transplant

Hello,

This GoFundMe was created for Mary Omaña, a beautiful person inside and out. Mary has suffered an aggressive eye infection that has affected her vision accompanied with terrible pain.

She developed an ulcer in early May of 2023 that penetrated her eye and affected her cornea. She has undergone 3 eye surgeries to treat the bacteria that has damaged her eye and vision.

Finally after many different medications the bacteria has stopped growing but the damage has been done.

The doctors that are working with her have suggested that a corneas transplant is crucial in order to save her vision. The surgery would be in Puebla Mexico and the cost of such surgery is 150k pesos which translates to around 8k USD.

We reach out to friends and family to please share Mary’s story to try and help us raise the funds for her surgery. Not only has this been difficult for her well being but it has also not allowed her to work. Any donation will be much appreciated.

Este GoFundMe fue creado para Mary Omaña, una persona hermosa por dentro y por fuera. Mary ha sufrido una agresiva infección ocular que ha afectado su visión acompañada de un dolor terrible. Desarrolló una úlcera que le penetró el ojo y afectó su córnea. Se ha sometido a 3 cirugías oculares para tratar la bacteria que ha dañado su ojo y su visión.

Finalmente la bacteria ha dejado de crecer pero el daño ya está hecho. Los médicos que trabajan con ella han sugerido que un trasplante de córnea es crucial para salvar su visión. La cirugía sería en Puebla México y el costo de dicha cirugía es de 150 mil pesos, lo que se traduce en alrededor de 8 mil dólares.

Nos comunicamos con amigos y familiares para compartir la historia de Mary e intentar ayudarnos a recaudar fondos para su cirugía. Esto no sólo ha sido difícil para su bienestar sino que además no le ha permitido trabajar. Cualquier donación será muy apreciada.
