Dusty's Recovery: Your Support Matters
Donation protected
As many of you know and love my little brother, he is known in North Canton as “Mr. D” and to me, he is Dusty aka Todd Dustin Dannemiller. Dusty was hit by a car on Whipple in North Canton on Friday. A driver didn’t see him or stop and pulled out in front of him while he was on his motorcycle. Thankfully, he was thrown before the SUV ran over his motorcycle and totaled it. We are so thankful he is here and not more seriously injured, which is a miracle in itself! He had his helmet on, thank God! This accident was in no way his fault; the police already confirmed that.
Dusty works all summer as he always has when he isn’t teaching STEM at the North Canton Middle School. His family depends on the income he brings in during the summer, which he can’t do now. Dusty has been a teacher at the North Canton Middle School for the last 23 of his 24 years! He was a 6th-grade science teacher for the first 13 years and has been a STEM teacher ever since! I know many of the students and families have all told me he was their favorite teacher. He is the teacher that volunteers to chaperone the DC trip and is always involved and gets voted to do things by students! He is the teacher every parent hopes their kids get!
Dusty and his family could really use the kindness and support as well as prayers for a speedy recovery so he can be ready to teach again in August! Many have asked what they can do to help, and the biggest thing is the loss of income they were counting on! My sister-in-law is taking time off to care for Dusty, but they also have to hire a landscaper, etc., until he is better! The missing income is a huge stress to him and his wife Jamie right now, so any help is greatly appreciated!
