This page is created to honour the memory of our late son Dustin 'Dusty' Thomas.
Our son shared his respect for others, in one of his last wishes. It was to never be the cause of pain nor be a burden to family, relatives his countless friends - no matter the cost.
Those who had the pleasure to meet him will recall Dusty's relentless community service, gentle empathic spirit, and infectious smile or sense of humor (like his late grandfather Pete Sr.)
We understand that many who read this may have recently lost loved ones however encourage you to have faith in the belief that where there are struggles, there also exists love, respect and healing.
Some may not know it however even during his own struggles with mental health or occasional homelessness, his faith drove him to travel and share his gifts with disadvantaged youth from across Canada. Dusty believed in sharing all he could including his respect and deep love for others - regardless of their origins, clan, income status, values, faith or religion. I was often reminded of this as he would say - like you, I have to walk the talk!
Between visits to close relatives in the north, Dusty called Winnipeg his home since birth and now his humble spirit has been recalled to the spirit world. He leaves to mourn his family, school chums, their parents and his children plus his many friends from the Winnipeg Boys and Girls Clubs.

His thoughtful but small wish is in support of family & friends to help with travel expenses, to aid or kick start a Headstone fund and to donate remaining funds to charities he valued.

Please consider the following charities which he respected and valued: Siloam Mission, Boys and Girls Clubs, AFM and Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP).
Many of you understand that as hard as is for me to reach out and ask for your help, always know my positive thoughts and prayers are with families affected by a sudden loss. Mental health matters and I love you.
Thank you, Merci, Masi Cho, and Tinhiki in advance for your show of compassion & love!
