I am raising money to help with medical and living expenses for Dusty Miller who was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma.

On August 25 my little brother, Dusty Miller went to the ER with substantial pelvic pain. While there they performed a CT and noted a large mass in his pelvis “that needed to be worked up immediately” On 8/31 Dusty had a repeat CT that showed an 8x6 cm left pelvic mass with central necrosis. The CT further showed partial encasement and moderate mass effect on the left, external iliac vein and artery, as well as possible femoral nerve involvement On 9/1 He had a needle biopsy. At that time the pathologist noted predominantly necrotic tissue with patchy, lymphoid infiltrate, features concerning for possible lymphoma but requested excisional biopsies for further characterization. On 9/23 while the surgeon was obtaining the larger tissue biopsies from the pelvic mass he confirmed the partial encasement of the iliac vein, artery, and femoral nerve. These tissue samples were sent to pathology and on 9/27, It was confirmed that Dusty has large B-cell lymphoma.

Dusty had a PET scan 10/12 and starts 18 weeks of chemotherapy 10/13. There are a couple test still pending that will give us more of an insight as to the rate of growth we are dealing with which may change the treatment plan. Surgery will be a last resort due to the proximity and partial encasement of Dusty’s iliac artery, vein, femoral nerve and the risk of paralysis.

Dusty is only 37. He’s an amazing dad to 2 teenagers. He is a wonderful husband and provider. He is a brother, a son, an uncle, a deacon at the church. Dusty is always the helper. He would do anything for anyone at anytime. This is going to put exponential stress on the family in many areas but certainly financially.
