DUSTY AND LILY LOST EVERYTHING TO IDA

Hi. My name is Tracy Thompson. Dusty Nowak is my brother. He lives in Algiers Point in New Orleans because of me. It's Aug 29, exactly 16 years to the day since Katrina, and as I write this Dusty and his girlfriend Lily and their 2 cats are hunkered in their kitchen where they hope to spend the night. Earlier tonight the roof on the front of their house caved in, and water continues to pour in as Ida churns. They are physically okay but have lost everything they own. In the morning, they will need to start putting their life back together. They've been un- or under- employed since covid, and will start tomorrow with nothing.
