Dustin&Mckayla

As many of you already know on Friday May 14th Dustin Gibson and Mckayla Mitchell were in a motorcycle accident on HWY 60 and McCord. Dustin was the driver and Mckayla was the passenger. Both are very blessed to be alive with us today!

Dustin works as a welder at Mertz Manufacturing and Mckayla is a head start teacher at the White Eagle Ponca Tribe. Together they are engaged to me married while they raise their 1 year old daughter and reside in Ponca city, Osage county.

Mckayla sustained a skull fracture to the back of her head and a frontal lobe brain bleed. She was life flighted to St Johns Tulsa where she was admittted into the Nuero ICU. She is receiving excellent care and being closely monitored for a head and brain injury. Dustin sustained a femoral head fracture and shattered his tibia and fibula that resulted also in a knee join injury. Dustin was ground transported to Alliance Ponca City and is in an external traction to keep his bones alligned until the swelling will allow repair surgery to the bones and knee. Both Dustin and Mckayla have a long road to recovery.

Family and friends are asking for help if you’d like to donate to assist the young couple with bills as they will be off work and also funds to hire a childcare sitter and someone to assist them through recovery.
