Dustin Tannenhaus Memorial Scholarship Fund
Tax deductible
Dustin Tannenhaus was born in Spring Valley, CA. An outstanding student and athlete all his life, he graduated from UC San Diego in 2007 and captained the UCSD soccer team. Dustin was driven and hard-working, which inspired a stronger work ethic in those around him.
In July 2019, Dustin Tannenhaus suffered a fatal heart attack at the young age of 33 while on vacation with his wife, Sofia. They were unknowingly pregnant with their first child, Elena, who is now 4 years old.
To continue his legacy of positivity and generosity, Sofia established a 501 (c)(3), the Just4Dust Foundation, to provide support for local low-income soccer players on their path to college.
July 20, 2024 will mark Dustin’s 5-year death anniversary. While this is a devastating milestone, Sofia hopes that friends, family, and those touched by this story and our mission come together in a meaningful way. The Just4Dust Foundation has raised thousands of dollars for student athletes to pursue a postsecondary education. We are thrilled with our success so far! We also recognize that to achieve even greater impact, broader community support is essential. Sofia has set a fundraising goal of $20,000 by the end of July 2024.
Your tax-deductible donation will fund scholarships for local students who demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, and excellence in athletics. Please consider donating today & sharing this campaign with your friends and family. With your help, we can ensure more student athletes receive financial support to realize their educational endeavors.
