Hello...Maegen here,
Most of you know we lost our father, Dustin Hyden, yesterday. We are still in disbelief, and there aren't any words we can say to make these following chapters in our lives any easier. He was a U.S Army Veteran, a tanker. He loved airplanes and watched Top Gun more times than we can count. He sang the heck out of a country song and made us and many people laugh until their stomachs hurt. He loved being a grandpa; he kept everything to my art show invitation, to silly pictures we drew for fun when we were kids. This is hard. One day we laughed over inside jokes, and the next, he's gone.
We are in the works of getting everything situated regarding his military salute and transporting him to Phoenix, Arizona, where he wanted to be buried next to our Grandpa Bob. We were reluctant even to start a GoFund account, but I know this was the best for all of us financially. We need immediate funds for everything happening in the next few days. We are trying to get everything done before I head back to Germany, if possible. Many friends and family loved him, especially his Maddogs A 2/12 Cav friends who were there with him when we couldn't be. And we thank you so much for that. He loved the Army, WW2 history, and being around his family and friends. We plan to have a memorial here in Texas before leaving for all of his friends and family here. This information will be coming asap. I will update it here and on FB when we have more information. The funeral will be at the National Memorial Cemetary of Arizona.
Thank you,
Maegen, Marlee, and Gaige
