Durham Striders Campaign 2018!
Please support our GoFundMe campaign to support the Durham Striders Youth Association during the 2018 spring and summer track and field season.

History and Purpose
The Durham Striders track club was founded in 1975 and has always been committed to building character and confidence through athletic competition. Our team has a winning tradition in track and field—we’ve had hundreds (yes HUNDREDS) of national champions and several national record-holders. We are also committed to high academic standards—over 90% of our high school senior athletes attend college and many have earned track and field scholarships.

Impact
Annually, we field a team of 250-300 athletes from Durham and Burlington, and surrounding communities in North Carolina. The Striders are committed to serving youth from all economic backgrounds; our coaches are volunteers and, with the help of donations and parental support, we have been able to pay entry fees, bus/van rentals, and hotel charges while only asking families for minor contributions and a modest registration fee. In the past several years, to ensure our athletes were able to participate in the most competitive track meets, Frank and Bettie Davis have generously been funding a majority of the team’s expenses with profits from their timing and meet management company. However, the costs of sustaining a growing track club keep rising and we are in need of support. We are asking that you join our cause so that our student athletes may continue to develop valuable life skills through track and field.

You can help!
With the above in mind, we need your help! Your modest donation will go a very long way toward sustaining the efforts of our coaches, parents, and volunteers to continue building confidence and character through athletic competition. Your donations are tax deductible and will go directly to travel, lodging, and meet entry fees for the student athletes. With your help, we will be able to offer these awesome opportunities to every athlete who meets the qualifying standards.

Goal
Our goal is to raise $50,000.00 before May 1, 2018. Please consider making a donation of any amount; $5, $10, $20 or more is appreciated—every dollar goes to supporting our young athletes!
Thank you for your support!
