A Devastating Fire Destroyed the House of my Father, John Manuel Duran.

     55 years ago, my father & mother started their life together in this house. Raising 6 children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandkids - All of us calling it home at one time or another.

     My mother passed away 5 years ago in the bedroom she had shared with the love of her life. My father always said he felt my mother closest while in their bedroom.   Because of this, my elderly father had wanted to stay in this house . So, his daughter, Alicia moved her family in to take care of him.  55 years of history & memories, all lost in less than 5 minutes.

      Alicia was there when the fire started and her quick actions helped get everyone out in time but  was not able to save anything. My nephews, Noah & Dylen were not even able to grab shoes. 

     While feelings of shock, despair and loss in the aftermath of this tragedy, my family has also felt humbled and truly blessed by the support from family,  neighbors & friends who rallied around us in this devastating event.

    We are extremely grateful to friends, family and neighbors who have stepped up to help us in our time of need. With their donations of food, money & clothes (Noah got some boots)  we were able to set the family up for a few days.
