Duprenne's Scholarship Fund

HE DID IT! He graduated high school, and is now ready to attend college here in the states!

Do you remember Duprenne, the young man from years ago when we did a fundraiser for his high school education? I met him on my first trip to Haiti in 2010, where he hung out with me and the other missionaries as we travelled the country, ministering to those harmed in the major earthquake. He travelled along as our “mascot” and interpreter for many weeks. He grabbed a piece of my heart 11 years ago, and remains an important part of my life.

In 2014, some of you contributed to his funds for school, and now I am happy to announce, that he has not only graduated from high school, but has been accepted into Shasta College in Redding California. He plans on majoring in Computer science, and then returning to Haiti to pour into his country, and into the neighborhood where he grew up.

After arriving in the states, my amazing brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Gina Doll, will be hosting him, and covering all of his living expenses as he attends college. Stephen and Gina have hosted nearly 20 foreign exchange students over the years, many of them from impoverished regions throughout the globe. Not only have these students been accepted as “family,” into the Doll tribe, but they have gone on to higher education and successful careers, here and abroad. (Steven and Gina truly have the gift of generosity, hospitality and act as spiritual parents, enabling these students to thrive)

Although we await approval of Duprenne’s student visa (F-1 from the embassy), I am asking for any of you who may want to invest in this young man to contribute to his scholarship fund, hosted by Spirit of Joy International (SOJI). All donations over $250.00 are tax deductible, and your contribution into this young man’s journey will forever change not only his life, but also his future generations and bloodline. Your generosity will echo into eternity.

Prayerfully, he will be able to attend the spring semester, starting in January 2022. We need to raise $25,000.00 (we have already received $5,000 from one generous donor) to cover all of his necessary expenses for the next two years, including tuition, books, health insurance, visa fees, airfare, clothing and other nominal expenditures. Although only donations over $250.00 will be tax deductible, any amount you wish to contribute will be greatly appreciated.

Finally, we would appreciate your prayers, as we need favor for his approval for his F-1 visa. Since the assassination of Haiti’s president, Jovenel Moïse on July 7th, 2021, the country has been in an upheaval and it is VERY dangerous. It has become extremely difficult for governmental entities to operate, which makes receiving a visa a complex project. However, we believe that God has called Duprenne to the United States, to the Doll family, to Shasta College, and ultimately into Duprenne’s Kingdom purpose, therefore we believe God will make a way.

Thank you for your consideration, and for your generosity by investing in the life of just one of His children. I love you all!

Blessings,
Pastor Stan Doll
