Duperier Family Grave Site Restoration
Donation protected
The Duperier family grave site located in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in New Iberia, Louisiana is in need of attention. Frederick Henri Duperier, the man who incorporated New Iberia on March 13, 1839 is among those buried at this location. His grave, those of his son, Alfred, and a few others within the plot have areas where the brick is exposed and where the marble has developed black stains which need to be addressed.
The monument erected in his honor by his surviving wife and children also needs cleaning. In addition to the structural issues, there is also a need to provide identification for everyone who is buried at the site. This will be done by the addition of two plaques listing the names of those who are known to be entombed.
The total estimated price to have all of this done is between $3,000 and $3,500. This gofundme is an effort to allow as many of the family members and friends of the family as we can who wish to participate in this honorable effort to restore this historic grave site the opportunity to do so. Thank you for contributing on behalf of our ancestors!
