I'm Lucas, one of three owners of a giant, lovable, very orange cat named Dunkin.
Dunkin is the kindest, sweetest cat I've ever met. He's loved by everyone he meets, both in real life and online. However, he has a habit of eating things he shouldn't. A couple years ago, he ate a Nerf dart, and had to get emergency surgery. Even though we removed all of those from the apartment, he's gotten himself into some kind of new mess. We don't know for sure what he got into this time, but he's been increasingly sick and in and out of emergency vets for days, and no one can figure out what exactly is wrong. The morning I'm writing this, he went in for exploratory surgery to see if he had something that couldn't be picked up on x-ray.
We would do absolutely anything for this cat, but the cost of all this emergency care has racked up beyond what we're able to pay in a timely fashion. Even with CareCredit, my limit is maxed out, and the rest of our total debt burden is increasingly suffocating. Paying off this surgery in the 12-month interest-free promotional period would require paying the equivalent of two thirds of an extra rent payment per month. With rent difficult enough to afford as is, this isn't really feasible without help.
The goal is set at my current CareCredit credit limit, which the current vet bills are nearly at already, and may climb higher if things get worse somehow. Please help us help Dunkin. He means so much to us and we'll do whatever it takes to help him get better.
