My husband Joe was a loving and doting husband and father to my 13-year-old daughter and 2 cats. Unfortunately, while driving home alone one night, he sustained irreparable damages from a car accident.
Since his liver and intestines were gradually failing due to previous illnesses, his liver was unable to stop his bleeding. I know he was trying hard to fight to stay with us as he has always been a strong fighter through tough situations. However, the doctors are now informing us he will not wake up and recommending our family take Joe off the ventilator. He is only 58 years old.
As a Vietnamese American immigrant, he believed with enough perseverance he could fight through the cultural barriers toward a happy life. What I loved most about Joe was his unwavering support towards our daughter's artistic achievements; he wanted to walk with her at every step of her life and future achievements.
Sadly, with this heartbreaking news, he will no longer be there for her birthdays, her high school graduation, her first college application, or her first job. My daughter suffers from anxiety and depression, so all he wanted was for her to be happy by being a strong support for her.
As I prepare to be the sole provider for my daughter, my family is asking for donations from the community for funeral expenses to lessen the financial burdens. We are thankful to accept any amount of donations to help my family.
Thank you for all the love and support during this time as we grieve my husband. Please, everyone, stay safe.
Cảm ơn tất cả mọi người vi chia buồn cùng gia đình tôi.
