Hi everyone!
I’ve (semi last-minute!) decided to run the Dunedin Marathon on 14th September 2025 to raise money for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
Some of you may know that in May 2024, I ran the Edinburgh Marathon to support Save the Children’s work in Gaza — providing vital aid to children and families caught in crisis. It’s heartbreaking to say that since then, the situation in Gaza and the West Bank has only worsened. The Gaza Strip is now facing Level 5 food insecurity — a technical term for catastrophic famine.
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) delivers life-saving medical aid, essential supplies, and long-term healthcare support to Palestinian communities in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. Their teams work under incredibly difficult conditions to treat injuries, support maternal and child health, and respond to urgent emergencies with speed and compassion. MAP has been doing this work for decades, and right now, their presence on the ground is more critical than ever.
On a slightly lighter note — some of you might also know that in 2019 my dad ran the Kinlochleven Marathon in 4 hours 35 minutes. I came painfully close in Edinburgh, finishing in 4 hours 36. This time, I’m putting even more on the line:
- If I beat his time, I’ll personally donate an extra £20.
- If I don’t beat him, I’ll double it and donate £40.
Please, if you’re able, donate or share this fundraiser. Every bit of support genuinely helps and means so much — to me, and to those MAP is working so hard to reach.
Thank you.
