As many of you know...I found a tumor on Duncan's leg which has since been diagnosed as a connective tissue tumor. The vet wont know the type of connective tissue tumor it is until it is surgically removed. There are 2 basic types. one can be dealt with by taking a wide margin of the surrounding area..the other is not good and wont easily cure him and he may require further radiation. It is a fast growing tumor so I need to have it done asap.
I took him today to meet with the surgeon and he is scheduled for surgery Tuesday. The cost of the surgery itself is about 1300.00...but depending upon the results of the biopsy the costs may escalate should he require radiation or further surgery ...Also depending on how deep they have to go to remove the tumor, he may need therapy as they will need to cut into muscle. Nothing about this tumor is easy.
I am not one to ask for help....I have made so many attempts in my life to be as independent as I can...going without so I can take care of my animals...This just came up out off the blue. And I just don't have any means to pay for this . I have care credit, which I can use to at least pay the surgeon, upfront. But they only defer the interest free for 6 months.. ..At which time I have to pay off care credit. The issue is I cant pay the bill off in 6 months...not even close to that.
I no longer have any reserves to pull from as I lived off my IRAS when I was unemployed from 2014-2016 ...there is no more money...So I need help...I don't want to make a decision on his care based on money but rather in what is the best thing I can do for him...Will he be cured...will he have a quality of life...If i base it on money...I am not being the best advocate for him...
He had a hard life before I rescued him...And he has been happy and loved...I want to continue to offer him love and a warm home.

Any money left over will be donated to a local rescue so they can put it towards medical care for a rescue in need.
