Dumped Kittens and Puppies in Crisis- UAE

Donation protected
For many years, a group of volunteers took it upon themselves to start feeding, TNRing and rehoming the many strays found on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi despite no government funding, no base, and being unable to fundraise. This has always been a difficult task, but made much harder in the last few weeks with the relentless dumping of very sick kittens and cats at one particular site next to a dog feeding station.
Not only are the dumped animals suffering and kittens are being killed by dogs nearby, but the volunteers are struggling with huge vet bills, exacerbated by the cost of boarding so many at the vet for so long due to lack of foster homes, in a country where so many people already have cats due to the large number of stray cats and unregulated pet shop and backyard breeders. If this wasn’t bad enough, a volunteer also found 2 baby puppies and 2 older pups (all parvo positive) in the same spot, and they begged for help. One of the baby puppies even crawled into a cat carrier himself and the older pups followed the volunteer to her car. We call this the ‘Reed Site.’

Help is urgently needed to go towards their vet bills. Every cat and kitten going in has been very sick and needed treatment. (Parvo, anaemia, dehydration, fevers, etc) The healthier ones are moved to a safer site and then neutered when old enough.
It’s not known when this barrage of sick kittens will end and with the current bill so high, no more help can be given to the next victims found on site. What can possibly be done?

As well as this particular site, volunteers have many other sites to feed, continue TNR, and take on dogs for rehoming who have a terribly hard time surviving the harsh environment.

Our vet bill for these kittens and latest dog rescues is above £10,000. (We also have another vet and a boarding venue to pay). The aim of this fundraiser is to raise £5,000 to give volunteers breathing room and the ability to keep helping more this week. The money will be sent to the Australian Vet in Khalifa City A where all these cats and dogs are being treated.
