Dumb Krogan Seeks Care, Gets Wrecked

As many of you know, I have long-term health issues that cause me a great deal of pain. The two diseases I have are Ankylosing Spondylitis, which I can only remember because it sounds like a dinosaur, and Sarcoidosis. One causes me to grow hard calcium-like things in places like my lungs, liver, and brain, and the other is my spine fusing together. I also suffer from memory loss and trouble speaking. Sounds fun, right?

I've been getting infusions every six weeks for years to try and stop the progression of these diseases since they don't offer me much relief from the pain. The medication and the actual infusion have been covered by insurance for years, which is great. Recently, however, I got a bill starting from last June to the tune of $660 every six weeks, which will run me along the lines of $6000 for the year. And being on Disability this is an expense I have no hope of paying for. The trouble is that if I had known that it would cost this much for these treatments, I would never have gotten them, and because the treatments are from last year, the office says I've had a long enough extension as it is. For those of you who don't know, Florida Medical is one big company that has a majority of the doctors in the state working for them and where all mine are. Normally that's great, but now with an unpaid bill this large, it means that my doctors won't see me for fear that I'm a deadbeat. This is on top of things I had already known I was responsible for paying off.

So that's the real trouble. I'm still trying to talk them off this surprise cliff, but in the meantime, the several doctor visits a month and my medications are in danger of suddenly stopping. Without which, I'm in trouble as the drugs don't really help the pain, but they do help me manage it, and insurance pays for them so far, or else I'd have switched to becoming an alcoholic. Which I also can now no longer afford as an option.

Any extra funds will be used for rent and other bills though I don't expect to receive more than a small amount, I thank you all nonetheless as I know times are hard for everyone.
