Duggan Family Medical Fund

Matt was diagnosed with T-Cell ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) in July of 2020. Immediately after the tough news, Matt spent 30 days in the hospital for induction chemotherapy treatment. His only worry at the time was that he couldn’t be with his daughter, Elliot, and wanted to make sure he would be present and be able to support his wife at the birth of their son that October. During Matt's stay, the family was also faced with the hardship of losing their sweet Boston Terrier, Frankie. The beginning of this journey was a whirlwind for him and his family to say the least.

After hospital stays, outpatient appointments, and being continuously poked and prodded, we are excited to announce that Matt is through his first phase of treatment. It has been an exhausting 10 months for the Duggan family, both financially and physically. Although he is through his first phase, chemotherapy has left its mark and the fight is not over. As a result of taking the necessary and aggressive medications, Matt's knees have been affected and he is on crutches full time. This has caused Matt to lose a lot of his independence and has added more hardship onto the family. We are hoping Matt won't have to have both of his knees replaced, but it is a very real possibility.

Matt will be continuing with another year and a half to two years of treatment to give him the best chance of fully recovering. Let’s all get together to help take some of the burden off of this family to allow them to continue to focus on Matt during this extremely hard time. Anything helps!
