Before celebrating their BIG day, Mike and Priscilla were hit with some news that was life-changing. Priscilla was diagnosed with a golf ball-sized brain tumor location in the center of her brain which they found out two weeks before their wedding. They were between putting it all on hold, or going through and seeing what could happen next- together. Below is an update from them that gives more detail:
"Hello! Michael and I just wanted to send out an update on how I am doing/ prognosis/ update on what we have learned. First I just want to say thank you so much to everyone for all our support, this has all been quite overwhelming and it would be impossible without all your love and encouraging words.
The test results have come back and revealed that I had/have a grade 2 Astrocytoma. This is a type of cancer in the brain. It is slow-growing and the doctors feel confident that they were able to remove the full tumor. They are not recommending chemo/radiation at this time. They want to monitor it for now, so that is good news! I will have to go in every 3 months for the next 2 years for MRI scans as part of the monitoring process, from there we will hopefully be able to extend the time between scans so long as everything looks good. There is a possibility that it can grow back, but with close monitoring, we would be able to catch it early and make a game plan from there.
Due to surgery I, unfortunately, lost my peripheral vision in my right eye.
There is a chance that some of it will regenerate but it takes about a year and a half for us to fully know where my vision will stand moving forward. With that, I have also lost some of my ability to read and comprehend written language and numbers efficiently, I will be going to PT and OT to strengthen my ability to do so. My hope is that with OT and PT that I will be able to return to work by the end of this year or early next year.
They have also diagnosed me with a seizure disorder, they are partial and subclinical, so not very noticeable. Our hope is that with the tumor removal the seizures will cease (so far that seems to be the case!) and I will be back to normal. Due to Illinois state law, I cannot drive for 6 months from my last seizure, but doctors feel confident that I will be able to do so in the future so long as I am able to pass a medical driving exam and remain seizure-free. We will be monitoring this with EEGs as well.
Overall this is good news and I am grateful to have all the love and support from friends and family thank you all.

This is all after their beautiful wedding day and with bills piling up, we wanted to help them in some way and wanted to ask our friends and family to help support as well. This donation will be 100% for them and anything they may need right now.
