Dueberry-Ross Family House Fire Recovery
Hello, my name is Aisha and on Tuesday September 27th, my mother's home was engulfed in flames after an electrical fire tragically started in the back of the home. Luckily our family was not home when the fire broke out, but that also meant the fire ravaged the house and roof until a neighbor called emergency services. Our three dogs and cat were inside the house and miraculously were able to get a door open to escape, and they are visiting the vet for minor injuries and smoke inhalation.
Unfortunately, there has been significant damage to the home. Along with severe damage to the back of the house, the flames crept up through the roof and smoke damage spread throughout the house.
The fire marshall declared it inhabitable for the time being. A local non-profit has graciously helped with shelter for a couple of days for my mom, dad, brother, and his spouse.
The money raised will go directly towards immediate shelter, food, replacing what was damaged, and helping to rebuild their lives after this devastating event. Initial assessments indicate the home will need a new roof, new electrical and wiring, and structural repairs on the home's interior and exterior. The out-of-pocket expense of these repairs are far out of my family's reach, leaving them with an uncertain future. It's my hope that we can help them get through this challenging time, and back on their feet.
