On January 19, 2017, our beloved Marva was found unresponsive in her home. After being rushed to the ER and having several test ran it was discovered that she had somehow contracted a serious form of Bacterial Meningitis. She spent several days in isolation in the ICU fighting for her life being medicated, monitored and receiving blood transfusions. As the meningitis was being treated, Doctors noticed that the infection began to settle in her eyes. As her eye sight weakened Doctors now had to turn their focus on stopping the infection in the eyes and scheduled her for an immediate surgery. After an almost 2 hour surgery, Doctors did all they could to help her, but were unable to save her vision. Traumatically, Marva has lost her vision completely in both eyes and needs your help! Friends and family, as we all come to grips with what has happened it is being asked of you that whatever you can do to help our loving sister Marva would be greatly appreciated as this has been completely devastating to bear for both her and her only child Benaisha.

As a Nurse all of her adult-life, Marva has always been a helper to those in need. Now it is her time to receive some help.
