Some of you are already aware of Ducky's story but for those who are new here I will introduce him and myself.
I'm Mikayla a local vet nurse and a single mum to two young children. My Mum is amazing and helps me with rehoming rescue dogs by fostering them.
Ducky came from a rural NSW pound with his sister as very young pups. Ducky's sisters has since been adopted but unfortunately, Ducky's adoption has been put on hold due to excessive swelling in his left stifle. Ducky has had radiographs and a sample taken from his leg and the findings are not in his favour.
Our beautiful Ducky's leg is a big puzzle for our vets and the pathologist.
In the pathologist findings for the fluid sample taken from the joint it states "it appears somewhat suggestive of plastic
material or something similar". This means there is foreign material within the joint of Ducky's leg. How this injury has happened we will never know but unfortunately it is looking like amputation is the best option for his health long term due to the damage caused.
He has another review later this week but sadly there has been no improvement with his leg since being rested and on medication.
Before any further treatment can happen for Ducky, donations are desperatly needed to ensure this can be paid for. Please share this link for the go fund me far and wide. If you are able to spare even $5 every small amount will add up to help us help Ducky have a pain free happy future.
