We are Duckfeed.tv, an independent media outlet seeking to recover after being hit with huge, unexpected legal fees.

This summer we were contacted about our use of an image on our site, so we lawyered up and negotiated an agreement to resolve things. However, that resolution plus the legal fees to reach it set us back by a very large amount of money.

This has wiped out our entire reserve budget. This is money that we use for conventions and initiatives, including as part of our network growth push. It's the cushion we need to do anything that's not paying the most immediate expenses. It would take years to build it back up. (Unfortunately, we had already booked our Resident Evil Vegas trip before this was settled.)

We operate responsibly and hold plenty of money back, but what has happened is basically impossible to budget for and it's really thrown us! Unfortunately, we cannot discuss any more particulars because of Law Stuff, but we're holding this fund raiser and also throwing a little streaming party on Saturday, September 26 in order to get back into financial shape.

More details about the streaming event will be coming soon, but we are opening up the fundraiser ahead of time and will be leaving it open afterwards because anything you can give is greatly appreciated.
