As some of you might know I traveled to Haiti last spring to work construction on a preschool in the small coastline town of Belle Anse. Since then I have continued my work with the group that introduced me to the plight of this city and country, Return2Haiti. On a recent trip of Return2Haiti, we discovered that a boy has been diagnosed with tuberculosis of the leg, a serious but treatable disease. This child, Ducène, is the brother of someone who my friend Quintin and I have taken under our wing the past year in order to give him a chance to have a self-productive life. However, this problem we can not solve alone. The treatment for his condition is quite intensive and requires six months of treatment. Ducène has already arrived at the Paul Farmer Hospital in Mirebalais and is all set to begin treatment! The estimated cost of treatment is between $5,000-$6,000. So, I ask for any and all to donate whatever they can, and use this not as a one-time act of kindness but rather a catalyst for continued action in whatever causes interest you.
